A VibeApp is an application with a team of AI specialists behind it. You say what you want in your own words, the app brings in the right skills, shows you what matters, and adjusts as your request changes. It is closer to dealing with someone who knows the job than to filling in software.
Three sentences sum it up:
- Set the goal. The VibeApp handles the rest.
- You explain, it adapts: the right skills, at the right moment.
- Your need evolves, it moves forward with you.
The rest of this article explains what that means in practice, with a real example you can watch.
What does a VibeApp look like in use?
Take booking a trip. In most travel apps you fill in a search form, sort through dozens of results, then start again for the hotel, and again for the transfer from the airport.
In a VibeApp you write one sentence: Lisbon for two, in May, with a budget. A manager reads the request and hands each part to a specialist. The flight specialist proposes flights. The hotel specialist comes back with a hotel that fits, shown as a card with a photo and a price. You choose, and the choice shapes what comes next: the dinner proposals fit what is left of the budget.
You can read the full walk-through, member by member, on the Trip Planner page.
How is a VibeApp different from a classic app?
A classic app is designed in advance. Its screens, its menus and its steps are the same for everyone, whatever they came to do. That works well when everyone needs the same thing. It works less well when each request is a little different.
A VibeApp keeps what works in a classic app and adds a team that adapts.
| A classic app | A VibeApp | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you start | A menu or a form | What you want, in your own words |
| The path | The same for everyone | Built around your request |
| What you see | Everything it can do | What serves you now |
| The unplanned case | A dead end, or a call to support | The team handles it, and asks you when a choice is yours |
Does a VibeApp still have screens?
Yes. In Trip Planner the hotel card, its photo, the “Choose” button and the payment step are ordinary screens. What changes is when they appear: at the moment they are useful, for this person and this request.
This is worth stressing because it is often misunderstood. A VibeApp is not a chat window that replaces your interface. Most real VibeApps are a mix: classic screens where a screen is the clearest way to show something, and one or several teams where the work depends on the situation.
What is behind a VibeApp?
A team. Not one large AI model trying to do everything, but several AI specialists, each with a role, working together the way colleagues do.
Trip Planner has thirteen members: a manager, and specialists for flights, hotels, ground transport, dining, activities, insurance, travel documents, budget, payment and reservations. The manager is the only one who talks to all the others. Each specialist does one thing and reports back.
This is what lets a VibeApp bring “the right skills, at the right moment”. A weekend close to home may not need the visa specialist. A trip to another continent does. The manager decides who is needed, request by request.
If the idea of AI specialists working as a team is new to you, start with what a multi-agent system is.
Is a VibeApp a chatbot?
No, and the difference is easy to see.
A chatbot is one AI model answering in text. You ask, it replies, and the work of acting on the reply stays with you.
A VibeApp does the work. A team researches, compares, checks and prepares, then the app shows the result in the form that fits: a card to choose from, a comparison, a document, a step to confirm. And it stops when a decision belongs to you, instead of deciding in your place.
When does a VibeApp make sense?
It fits situations where requests differ from one person to the next and where several kinds of know-how are needed to answer well:
- Selling something with many parts. A trip, an insurance policy, a configured product. One request touches several specialities.
- Advising a choice. In the Shopping Lab example, a shopper describes a need, and nine specialists read what the stores publish, compare like with like and hand back an illustrated report with its sources.
- Handling requests with exceptions. Hiring, customer requests, internal services: the usual case is routine, and the unusual one is where time is lost.
It is also fair to say when you do not need one. Much of the time a team needs no app at all: you start it, it does its work, and it reaches you by email, on Slack or in a form when a decision is yours. The use cases page describes the three ways people talk to a team.
How do you build a VibeApp?
In two parts.
The team. You build it in the Agentivity Studio, in your browser, without code. You create each specialist by giving it a name and describing its role in plain words, then you put them in a team and choose how they work together. How it works shows this in three short clips.
The app. You have two options:
- The ready-made portal. One web page where people start the teams you have published, under your brand. There is nothing to develop.
- An app of your own. A developer connects your application to your team. The code of Trip Planner is public, so it can serve as a starting point.
You can begin with the portal and move to an app of your own once you know what your users need.
What a VibeApp is not
- It is not magic. The team is only as good as the roles you describe and the information it can reach.
- It is not unsupervised. A person stays in charge of the decisions that matter. That is a design choice, not a limitation.
- It is not a replacement for people. It takes over the repetitive and time-consuming part of a job, so that people spend their time where they are needed.
In short
A VibeApp is an app that behaves less like a tool and more like a capable team: you set the goal, it adapts to what you explain, and it moves forward with you as your need changes. The clearest way to understand it is to watch one: see Trip Planner, then see how a team is built.
Questions people ask
Is a VibeApp related to vibe coding?
No. Vibe coding is a way of writing software. A VibeApp is a kind of application: one that adapts to each person while they use it, because a team of AI specialists works behind it.
Does a VibeApp replace the app I already have?
It does not have to. A VibeApp can stand on its own or live inside an application you already use. Most real VibeApps mix classic screens with one or several teams.
Do I need to write code to build a VibeApp?
Not for the team: you build it in the Agentivity Studio with names, plain-word descriptions and drag and drop. The ready-made portal needs no development either. An app of your own, connected to your team, needs a developer.
Who makes the decisions in a VibeApp?
The person using it. The team proposes, and the app stops and asks each time a choice belongs to the user: which hotel, which option, whether to pay.
Which AI models can run a VibeApp?
The ones you choose. Agentivity connects to OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, xAI and AWS Bedrock, and you can change later.
